A legend of sorts has passed away. On April 14, Leonard Heath, 67, of Waterville, NY went to the big tractor pull in the sky. Tractor pull fans will remember Leonard as the big guy with the whistling, flying 1086 who won almost every pull he entered.
Leonard was born Jan. 9, 1946 in Utica, NY, a son of the late Leonard O. and Clara Gorton Heath. On April 25, 1972, Leonard married Helga E. Kaiser in Waterville. She predeceased him on May 5, 1996. Leonard was a self-employed dairy farmer. Surviving are a step-son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Kaiser of Oriskany Falls; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lea and Don Karecki, of Tulsa, OK; Bea Greene, Garland, TX; Donna and Gardner Callanen, of Industry, PA; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Chapman of Morrisville; Kala Kaiser, of Oriskany Falls; his special friend, Norman Lyke; and several nieces and nephews.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Waterville Volunteer Ambulance 7769 St Rt 20 Waterville, NY 13480.
