Local brewery celebrates with antique engine show

Mohawk Valley locals couldn’t have asked for better weather to celebrate this Independence Day as the region hit summer highs in the low 90s and a humidity index that would have anyone reaching for a glass of cold iced tea and heading for the nearest swimming hole.

And so it was, on this sun-drenched patriotic weekend, local brewery Eisenadler Brauhaus in Palatine Bridge hosted an antique engine show in partnership with Matt Montgomery, a local Fort Plain collector and his LLC, K&M Engine Works. The event called for “anything with an engine” to showcase – “engines, tractors, vintage cars, etc.!”

The result was a great showing of some local pieces, displayed in the yard of the brauhaus. Fultonville-based El Cielo Food Truck was on hand in the parking lot, offering authentic Mexican food. And of course, the Eisenadler crew were on hand to serve their signature drafts when the brewhouse opened in the latter part of the afternoon.

Billed as “Montgomery County’s first microbrewery,” the location offers a craft brewery destination that is warm, inviting and full of character – not to mention easy to get to, right on Route 5 and just off the New York State Thruway.

Owners John and Jodie Rodriquez wanted their location to stand out. They do, with the unique beer styles they have on tap (IPAs like “Hazed and Infused” and lagers like “Helles Yeah” are immediate attention grabbers), which will keep you coming back for more.

The couple were part of a great interview with Brew Central last year (featured in part on the brauhaus’s website) which does a terrific job of showcasing the business and helping locals get to know their story even better.

Stop by for a beer anytime! Eisenadler Brauhaus is open Friday through Sunday. You can also watch their website and social media for updates on more great events throughout the year.
