Open Farm Day is a celebration of the vital role that farming plays in our community, showcasing the rich diversity of farms in the picturesque landscapes of Madison County. Visitors will have the chance to explore working farms, interact with friendly farm animals and learn about sustainable agricultural practices firsthand.

Highlights of Open Farm Day include:

  2. Animal Encounters – Delight in the company of adorable farm animals, including cows, horses, sheep, chickens and more. Get up close and personal with these gentle creatures.
  3. Hands-On Activities – Engage in a variety of hands-on activities designed to educate and entertain. From tractor rides to hayrides, and berry picking to flower picking, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
  4. Local Farm Products – Sample and purchase a wide array of fresh, locally grown products, ranging from farm-fresh vegetables and fruits to artisanal cheeses, homemade preserves, locally-raised meat and delicious baked goods.

Open Farm Day is an excellent opportunity for city dwellers, suburban families and rural residents alike to connect with the land, appreciate the hard work of farmers, support local farms and gain a deeper understanding of where our food comes from.
