Oswego County Farm Bureau President, Nancy Weber along with New York State FFA Association President, Amanda Rhodes met recently with the Oswego County Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the development of an enhanced agricultural education program and the eventual startup of a local FFA Chapter in Oswego County.
“Clearly the FFA has a place in the educational systems of our county schools” stated the District Superintendent, Christopher Todd. “With a lack of district led programs, it appears as though an opportunity has presented itself to bring this programming to our students.” With such a positive introduction to New York’s FFA Association which introduces leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education, the Oswego County BOCES will be moving forward to investigate implementation of an enhanced agricultural program and the eventual FFA chapter possibility.
